Yummy Slow Cooker Applesauce

Updated: Jan 9, 2023

This is a great snack to help with that sweet tooth after dinner.

I LOVE this snack during the fall and winter months. It satisfies that sweet craving I tend to get after dinner.

I apple-solutely LOVE you ;-)

Slow Cooker Applesauce

Makes ~ 4 cups (8 servings)

~10 minutes to prep and 4 hours to cook in slow cooker

6 large apples or about 3 lbs of apples (I like a mix of Granny Smith, Empires, Honey Crisp and MacIntosh

1/2 Cup Water

2 (3 inch) cinnamon sticks

1 Tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 Tablespoon maple syrup

3/4 teaspoon vanilla

Prep and Cooking Instructions

Chop apples into chunky pieces. Place in slow cooker. In a small bowl mix water cinnamon, salt, maple syrup and vanilla. Pour mixture over the apples. Set slow cooker on LOW and cook for 4 hours or until apples are soft enough to mash. Mash the apples with a potato masher for a more chunky consistency. You can transfer to containers and store in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for a couple of months.
